The Tiverton Tree Team seeks volunteers for tree-planting events from January to March 2025, aiming to boost biodiversity and support local wildlife.
One big day is Saturday, February 8. The team will plant trees at a new nature reserve. They aim to create shelter belts along the riverside. There will be live music from the Climate Choir, plus free soup, cakes, and hot drinks. The event runs from 10 AM to 4 PM.
The winter program wraps up on Saturday, March 15. Volunteers will help restock ancient woodland where trees were planted in 2022 and 2023. They will replace any trees that didn’t survive. This event isn’t suitable for kids under 10 due to steep terrain. Free refreshments and tools will be provided.
The Tiverton Tree Team invites everyone to join these events. If you’re interested, email wildtiverton@gmail.com to register. For updates, check their community page on Facebook.
