Levi Burton, 30, jailed for shoplifting and assaulting a security guard at Sainsbury’s in Surrey with a jam jar.
Levi got nabbed on January 22. He stole from shops in Leatherhead on December 14. The shops were Holland and Barrett, also Sainsburys.
A security guard at The Swan Centre spotted him. The guard asked him for proof of payment. Levi said he didn’t get a receipt. Then, the guard followed him.
Levi got angry. Police said Levi threw a glass jar at the guard and threatened him. Afterwards, Levi ran away. Besides this, he admitted stealing makeup from Boots in Reigate. The makeup bags cost £330.
On January 3, he stole meat from Marks and Spencer. This happened in Ashtead. They arrested him for four shoplifting counts. He also got charged with ABH.
Burton admitted to all the shoplifting, but he denied hurting the security guard. He got eight weeks in jail and has to pay £354.34 in fines for the thefts. This was at Guildford Crown Court last Tuesday.
He had a suspended sentence from another theft. Because of this new case, that sentence got activated.
