Dublin: Changes are coming to social welfare payments. The February bank holiday is causing a shift. Payments usually scheduled for Monday, February 3rd, will arrive earlier.

Because of St. Brigid’s Day, banks and post offices will be closed. So, any payments due that day will be sent out on Friday, January 31st, or Saturday, February 1st.

Parents can expect their Child Benefit to hit their accounts on those days too. This happens whenever there’s a bank holiday before the first Tuesday of the month.

Just a reminder, here are the bank holidays in Ireland for 2025: New Year’s Day on January 1, St. Brigid’s Day on February 3, and St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, among others.
