Ryanair is changing its boarding pass rules in May 2025, moving to digital-only passes and tightening hand luggage restrictions. Stay informed to avoid extra fees.
Dublin: Ryanair is making big changes for passengers starting in May 2025. They’re moving to digital-only boarding passes. This means no more paper passes at the airport.
Passengers will need to use the Ryanair app to check in. If you forget to download your pass, it could cost you €66. So, remember to do it before you arrive!
Ryanair is also tightening hand luggage rules. You can only bring one small bag for free. If you want to bring more, you’ll need to pay extra. Some bags that fit the size requirements are available online for under €20.
If you want to bring a larger bag, consider upgrading to a Priority fare. This gives you more baggage space. But if you show up with an unbooked 10kg bag, you might face a €55 fee at the gate.
Ryanair recommends arriving at the airport at least 40 minutes before your flight. If you’re late, you could face a missed departure fee of €120. So, plan ahead to avoid extra costs!
