North Devon invites the community to nominate cultural stars for its upcoming awards, celebrating local talent and contributions.
North Devon: The Flourishing Culture initiative is calling for nominations. They want to hear from you about individuals or groups that have made a cultural impact. It could be anyone from artists to musicians or even local sports teams.
This initiative started in October 2022. It aims to boost access to the arts and support local growth through culture. Plus, it’s all about preserving local heritage for future generations.
The awards will shine a light on those who enrich our cultural life. It’s a chance to celebrate the diverse ways culture touches our lives in North Devon and Torridge.
Councillor Mark Haworth-Booth said it’s a great opportunity to recognize local cultural trailblazers. He encourages everyone to show appreciation for those who inspire and connect the community.
You can nominate multiple people or even yourself. Just fill out a simple online form to make your voice heard.
Councillor Cottle-Hunkin added that this is a fantastic chance to celebrate those who contribute to our vibrant cultural scene. From local galleries to lively festivals, there’s so much to appreciate.
Anyone living or working in North Devon and Torridge can nominate. It’s not about who’s the most famous, but about those who positively impact the community.
Categories include Arts in Education, Crafts, and Performing Arts, among others. Shortlisted nominees will be invited to an awards event in Barnstaple in March.
