Monaghan: A man is in serious trouble after a baseball bat attack. Declan Wallace, 47, was found badly hurt on Park Road. This happened late Tuesday night, between 10 and 11 PM.

Emergency services rushed to help him. He had life-threatening injuries and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. His head injuries are very serious.

It seems he got into an argument with a group of men. They attacked him and then ran away. Due to a suspected brain bleed, he was moved to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the attack. Local Councillor Seamus Treanor expressed his shock. He mentioned that such violence is happening too often.

He called for stricter law enforcement and better sentencing. The police are asking anyone who saw anything to come forward. If you have dash-cam footage from that time, they want to see it.

You can contact Monaghan Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line if you have any information.
