Dublin: A man is in court for crashing his van into several government buildings. This happened last August. The damage could cost a fortune, maybe even seven figures.

David O’Callaghan, 40, allegedly hit the gates of Áras an Uachtaráin and other sites. He did this in just 15 minutes. His bail was set at €350, plus a €5,000 surety.

He showed up in court again recently. The judge noted that the case will go to the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on March 6. O’Callaghan hasn’t entered a plea yet.

His lawyer asked for legal aid for senior counsel. They mentioned it was a tough night last summer. The judge agreed to the request without any objections.

O’Callaghan must follow strict bail conditions. He can’t contact public officials or go to certain areas in Dublin. He’s facing serious charges under the Criminal Damage Act, which could mean a long sentence if convicted.

The case is still developing, and we’ll keep an eye on it. Stay tuned for updates on this situation in Dublin.
