Somerset: The A303 is closing for some much-needed resurfacing. This closure will last until next month. It’s a two-mile stretch between Newtown and Stopgate Cross.

Starting tonight, there will be weeknight closures from 8 PM to 6 AM. This goes on until January 24. Then, the road will be shut all weekend until January 27.

There’s another closure coming up too. From January 31 at 8 PM until February 3 at 6 AM, the road will be closed again. If you’re heading east, follow the A30 and Stooper’s Hill to get back on track.

For those going west, just reverse the route. It’s a good idea to plan your trips ahead of time to avoid any hassle.

National Highways has more info on the closures and diversions. You can check their website or follow them on X (formerly Twitter) for updates. You can also call their info line at 0300 123 5000 for the latest travel details.
