Barratt David Wilson Homes gives £1,500 to SSAFA, supporting veterans and their families in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
The money will help SSAFA’s local groups and their specialist help programs. Jenny King, who works at SSAFA, said donations are very important. They help provide support to the Armed Forces, many of whom face tough times.
SSAFA gives personal help through trained people and volunteers. The cost of living is going up a lot, making SSAFA’s work vital now. They depend on donations from groups and people; help from builders like Barratt is really valuable.
Barratt cares about helping local groups, and Louise Ware said they are proud to support SSAFA. They want to help the Armed Forces and their families, believing the money will make a real difference in their lives.
SSAFA plans many fundraising events for 2025, including a 13 Bridges Challenge and running the London Marathon. The Kiltwalks are another event coming up, as the group will mark its 140th birthday, along with V-E and V-J Days, which happened eighty years ago.
Barratt’s Ladden Garden Village keeps growing in Yate. It has houses, parks, and other services, including a new Sainsbury’s store and a nursery. Plans exist for a primary school.
