New affordable homes have opened in Ilfracombe after a 19-year wait. The Seascape project provides crucial housing options for local residents.
Paul Scovell managed the Seascape project for North Devon Homes. He expressed joy in welcoming the new residents and hopes they make lots of good memories there. These homes help the local area greatly by giving vital housing choices to the community. This comes after a very long wait.
The Seascape project has eight social-rented homes for North Devon Homes customers. Three are shared-ownership properties, which offer locals a way to own homes.
The houses sit on land off The Shields. Construction began in 2023, with Elan Homes building them for North Devon Homes as part of a larger development plan.
Paul also shared that he’s seen the area improve, noting that it had been unused for a long time. He noted they want to create nice communities. Their projects reflect this commitment to North Devon and they want to support their customers completely.
These homes are part of a bigger project, the Seascape development with 51 houses. Elan Homes finished it after earlier work stopped. It features houses and bungalows that have two, three, or four bedrooms. Some have fantastic ocean views.
More affordable Seascape houses are coming soon. Devon Home Choice will list them, creating more chances for locals to secure good, affordable homes.
