East Worlington House in Devon opens its stunning garden for visitors to enjoy crocuses while supporting local charities on select dates this February and March
For just £6, you can stroll through thousands of crocuses. The funds raised will go to the National Garden Scheme, which supports caring charities.
After exploring the garden, you can relax at the nearby parish hall. They offer delicious homemade cream teas and cakes. Every purchase helps support the parish hall.
The garden will be open on Sunday, February 23, and Sunday, March 2, from 1:30 PM to 5 PM. Admission is £6 per person, and kids can enter for free.
Dogs are welcome but must be on leads. Refreshments, including cream teas, will be available in the parish hall next door.
To get to the garden, head to East Worlington, just two miles west of Witheridge. From Witheridge Square, turn right towards East Worlington. After 1.5 miles, turn right at the T-junction in Drayford, cross the bridge, and turn left to Worlington. The garden is 200 yards on the left, with disabled parking available.
The crocuses have naturally spread over the years, creating a stunning display. The garden offers beautiful views down the valley to the Little Dart River. Visitors can also explore the area, including a wildflower meadow and nearby woods.
Organizers Barnabas and Campie Hurst-Bannister hope for strong support to raise funds for the NGS and the parish hall. Be sure to wear warm clothes and sturdy boots, and bring some extra cash for tea and cake.
