Headteacher hails large scale iPad rollout in Glasgow schools as revolutionising learning. Helping teachers and pupils alike.
One headteacher called it a “game changer.” John McGhee runs St. Andrew’s secondary. He thinks iPads help teachers a lot because they can mark papers faster and give feedback quickly. He likes leaving voice notes too.
The school uses the Showbie app. Lucy, St. Andrew’s head girl, says her iPad helps a lot and works for all school tasks. Showbie really helped her progress, as she can easily take pictures of her work. Teachers give quick feedback, often with voice feedback.
Fara is a student in grade twelve. She says iPads help her contact teachers and get feedback in many forms. Plus, she avoids fights at home because she doesn’t need her mom’s laptop. She can do homework more easily.
Lyndsay Murray also thinks it’s successful. She leads Langfaulds Primary in Drumchapel. The council said iPads help students and that these tablets level out learning. They minimize socio-economic differences, allowing all kids to access opportunities now, regardless of their background.
