Gardai raided two Dublin locations today, targeting counterfeit goods and money laundering. The operation involved multiple law enforcement units and seized significant items.
The raids happened in Dublin 1 and Dublin 13. The operation targeted Intellectual Property crime.
The Dublin Metropolitan Region’s Intellectual Property and Counterfeit Investigations Unit led the searches. They were supported by the Dublin Crime Response Team and the National Criminal Bureau.
During the raids, they seized several items. This included 180 suspected counterfeit Apple Air Pod Max headphones, worth about €104,400.
They also found 185 fake Otterbox mobile phone cases, estimated to cost €5,500. Luxury items from brands like Louis Vuitton and Gucci were also taken, valued at around €6,000.
Additionally, they seized €25,710 in cash.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Cleary praised the Dublin Crime Response Team. He noted their effectiveness against organized crime in the city.
No arrests have been made yet, and investigations are still ongoing.
