Dublin Airport expects around 340,000 travelers this bank holiday weekend. Passengers should arrive early and prepare for busy terminals.
Dublin: Dublin Airport is gearing up for a busy bank holiday weekend. About 340,000 passengers are expected to travel from Friday to Monday. This weekend marks the first bank holiday of the year, attracting many tourists and rugby fans.
Many England rugby fans will arrive for a big game at Aviva Stadium on Saturday. Tourists from around the world are also visiting Ireland for a winter break. Events and festivals are drawing more visitors during this previously quiet time of year.
Local travelers are taking advantage of the long weekend too. Many are heading out for city breaks, winter sun, or to see family abroad. With an average of 85,000 passengers daily, the airport will be busy, but preparation can help smooth the journey.
To make things easier, travelers should prepare for security. All liquids in hand luggage must be 100ml or less and in a clear plastic bag. It’s also wise to plan transportation to and from the airport.
Parking demand is high, so booking in advance is recommended. Alternatively, nearly one-third of passengers now take the bus, with over 1,070 daily connections available, including a new 24-hour route.
