Beer: A farmer is in court after his cows trampled a holidaymaker. Richard Dormor, 49, says he always prioritizes safety on his farm. He regrets the incident that left a woman injured.

The incident happened in May 2021 while Sharon Williams was walking with her husband and their dogs. They encountered a narrow path and were charged by cows. Sharon thought she might die as the cows attacked her.

She suffered serious bruising and a head injury that required hospital care. The prosecution claims Dormor didn’t take proper safety measures. He insists he did everything he could to keep walkers safe.

Dormor has farmed the land since the 1930s and runs the farm with his brothers. He was aware of the cows’ behavior and had warning signs in place. After the incident, he removed all cows from that field.

He’s now decided to stop grazing cows with calves in public areas to prevent future risks. The trial is ongoing, and Dormor is determined to defend his actions.
