Jacob Fallows, a three-year-old from Devon, runs 500m to support his parents’ charity efforts, inspiring many with his determination and spirit.
On the tenth day of their fundraising, Jacob wanted to help. Now, he runs three laps daily at Bow Bears Pre-School with his walker. When he finishes, he covers 500 meters. Jacob’s dad, Lee, is proud of him. He says Jacob is bright and understands the charity’s purpose.
Jacob has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, which affects his legs. He can’t walk independently without his walker, but his arms and hands work well. His mom, Georgina, talks about Jacob’s determination. He holds their hands for balance and coordination.
Georgina explains that walking is a big challenge for Jacob. His cerebral palsy means his brain struggles to communicate with his legs. They are working on retraining his brain through physiotherapy. This helps him learn to balance and stand.
Jacob’s sister, Olivia, who is nine, is also running to support him. She aims to complete 30 km this month. Jacob’s friends at school are cheering him on, tracking his runs for a final video.
The school community is very supportive. Lee and Georgina run 6 km daily and have raised over £2,400. The funds will help buy equipment for children with additional needs at Bow Bears. They also plan to enhance a sensory garden at Vranch House.
The family has set up a JustGiving page to help with their fundraising efforts. Jacob’s story is inspiring many in their community.
