Hey, guess what? Coalway Early Years got a “Good” rating from Ofsted! It’s a big improvement from before. They used to “Require Improvement.” The inspection happened on December 17, 2024.

The curriculum is now better for all kids, including children with special needs. Staff now understand what kids should learn and give children good education and care. It seems like planning made the difference.

Staff really care about each child and help kids become independent. They also work on building their self-esteem. The kids can voice opinions and pick activities. Staff learn each child’s likes and help new kids adjust easily.

The nursery teaches “golden rules,” so sharing and turn-taking are important. Kids listen well, like during clean-up and before meal times. They do yoga to stretch and relax, and can be active indoors and out.

Leaders improved the curriculum planning and fixed areas needing work. Now kids gain new knowledge and skills. Staff teach well to build upon this. Leaders check each child’s progress and help those with special needs.

Kids become good at talking early. They sing songs and enjoy stories. Staff know how to engage the children. They change their voice tones in stories and use objects and actions with rhymes. Kids focus well and learn words.

Ofsted suggested some improvements. Staff don’t always foster creative thinking and could let kids express more ideas. Some children need consistent help with emotions, so staff need to help them understand their actions.

The children learn to be independent early. Staff show young ones how to pour drinks and learn to tidy up after playing. Older kids can use the bathroom alone and put on coats for outdoor play.

Parents are very happy with the nursery. They are pleased with the communication and their children’s progress. Parents say that staff are very supportive and make the kids feel safe.

Staff get regular training and support. Leaders value their work a lot. Staff know their roles and responsibilities. They help each other as a team. The staff are happy and the mood is good. The nursery keeps kids safe and sound.

They put children’s needs first. Kids come first in all decisions there. Ofsted wants the nursery to help kids manage emotions. Also, they should help kids understand how behaviors affect others. The nursery should encourage creative thinking to allow kids to express their ideas.

Coalway Early Years takes care of kids aged two to four. Thirty-three children are currently enrolled, and it can accommodate forty-five. It’s open weekdays during school terms, from 9 AM to 3 PM. The full report is on Ofsted’s website if you’re curious.
