Bideford Town Rangers have officially opened their new depot at Caddsdown Industrial Park, marking a significant step in their growth and efficiency.
It all started with a small two-person maintenance team. They worked from temporary facilities. Now, they have a proper headquarters.
The opening ceremony was on January 31. Councillor Doug Bushby and Mayor Rachel Clarke led the event.
Cllr Bushby shared how the team grew from two to four members. They realized they needed a bigger space. In 2020, they found a site at Caddsdown and made a deal to buy the land.
The Town Rangers are getting stronger, and their work in Bideford is expanding.
Many attended the ceremony, including Steve Hearse from Torridge District Council and other town officials.
Cllr Clarke noted this is a historic moment for Bideford. The new depot will help save costs and improve efficiency. It will also store items for the Christmas lights and floral displays.
She thanked partners like C & R Construction for building the depot. Special thanks also went to Graham Blight from Country Cottage Bakery for his support. Darren Sparrey of DS Electrical provided a temporary home for the Rangers before the new depot was ready.
