A 79-year-old man has pleaded guilty to public indecency after being caught in a car park with a homeless woman in Torquay
He appeared in court recently, facing a charge of outraging public decency. Not surprisingly, he pleaded guilty. The incident took place on May 29 last year, during half-term week, which meant the car park was busy with families and kids around.
CCTV footage revealed some pretty shocking details. It showed McPhillips urinating before the act. When questioned, he mentioned he might have been drunk at the time. His lawyer, Mr. Alan Parsons, pointed out that this was the second similar case that week.
Since there are no clear sentencing guidelines for this kind of behavior, the magistrates decided to adjourn the case. They set a new date for April 24, giving McPhillips time to meet with a probation officer. A report will be prepared to help determine his sentence.
